Staying Your Course

I have a dream for my life. I can picture it in my head. And you may also have a dream for how you envision your life as well. You may or may not have a developed plan for how to accomplish that dream and that’s okay. Whether you have a plan or not, sharing your dream may not bring you support from others. Others may discourage you or caution you against getting your hopes up in an effort to try to protect you from failure or getting your feelings hurt. People often mean well. The thing is we all tend to think that what is good for us is good for all and so we caution and give advice based on our own knowledge and experiences. However, we are all uniquely created individuals. Therefore, what is right for me may not be right for you and what works for me may not work for you or vice versa.

The only person capable of managing your life is you. Don’t let anyone dissuade you. Protect your vision for how you want to live your life and keep that dream alive inside of you. You may be afraid. But here is a fundamental truth: Faith and Fear both require that you believe in something. Fear requires that you believe your dreams can’t or won’t possibly work out. Fear whispers in your ear that forces and circumstances are against you. Fear screams that you can’t possibly achieve your goals and that the worst will happen. Faith, on the other hand requires that you believe things will work out. Faith chants that despite your circumstances that you can overcome any challenges, that you can achieve your goals and that unexpected blessings are about to come your way. Another fundamental truth is this: The majority of time we worry and fear things that never materialize. Which would you rather expend your energy believing? Don’t give up on your dreams. Stay your course. Keep on believing and pursuing them. The odds are in your favor.

Until next time, Live Authentic. Live Intentional. Pursue your dream. Live with purpose.
